Almost immediately upon arriving back home from visiting with Nighthawk, we decided to take some new entry level Colt 1911’s from the store counter, and sent them off to Nighthawk to be re-commissioned by the incredible gunsmiths at Nighthawk’s Custom Shop.
Because of this, they can still wear the iconic name and badge of the Colt 1911, but they have been elevated far beyond anything that would leave Colt these days. The list of work that has been done is quite extensive but includes a full action tune, match trigger, reverse crown barrel, Ambidexterous Safety, match barrel bushing and plug, checkering, and more. The pistol even has the IOS optic ready system with an RMR Optic Plate in the box, ready to install an optic.
The goal is to have a timeless Colt 1911, that feels and shoots like a Nighthawk, and it’s been done perfectly. We have two of these builds on hand that just arrived from Nighthawk this week, and they are hitting the store floor today at $4,299.00.
